Apex Legends error 429 vs account ban: what to check first
Apex Legends error 429 does not by itself mean your account was banned. EA documents it in connection with unavailable or maintained services. A sanction is a separate issue that must be checked against your account notifications and EA Penalty History.

Three different situations
The EA Apex error guide associates 429 with server availability or maintenance. A failed connection, an account sanction and a hardware restriction are separate questions.
Scroll the table horizontally when it does not fit your screen.
| Observed issue | First check | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Error 429 | EA errors and server notices | Confirmed ban |
| Sanction notice | EA Penalty History | Every device is restricted |
| Account not permitted | Full error text and EA help | One universal cause |
Record and check the issue
- Save the full error, date, and action that triggered it.
- Consult the official code guide and current service notices.
- Check your account notice and EA Penalty History.
- For an incorrect sanction, follow EA's appeal instructions.
Keep passwords, verification codes and customer identifiers out of public error screenshots.
Does this indicate an HWID ban or require a product?
No such conclusion follows from a connection error alone. The EA sanction and appeal guide addresses account restrictions. The Apex ban guide separates account and hardware questions. For unrelated XDAY product requirements see the Apex listings and the official XDAY Discord.

EA may penalize cheating. A server error, an account decision and a product compatibility question have different sources of evidence. EA
