VALORANT VAN 1067 after reinstalling: vgc and Pre-Check
Riot says VAN 1067 usually indicates an unexpected Vanguard startup or system check-in issue. Reinstalling is not a guaranteed fix and the code alone does not establish an HWID ban.

Record the timeline before changing settings
Save the complete error, whether it occurs at launch or in a match, the time, Windows update timing and the steps already tried. Reinstalling without improvement does not identify the cause.
Scroll the table horizontally when it does not fit your screen.
| Situation | What to record or check |
|---|---|
| After a Windows update | Record update and restart status, then follow Riot’s sequence. |
| Still present after reinstalling | Record the attempts and results; consult official support if it continues. |
| Unsure about vgc | Check whether Pre-Check is running Vanguard on demand before applying the relevant official guidance. |
| A different code appears | Save the new full message and consult its own guidance. |
Start with Windows and connected devices
Riot begins with Windows updates and a PC restart, then disconnecting unnecessary controllers or USB devices. It next suggests running Riot Client as administrator. Check the result after each stage and consult the official VAN 1067 sequence for the current details.
vgc and the Pre-Check exception
Riot says to set the Vanguard service to Automatic when you are not using Vanguard Pre-Check to run it on demand. This is not a blanket instruction to change vgc for everyone using Pre-Check. Check your configuration and the official Pre-Check guidance before changing service settings.
Still getting VAN 1067 after reinstalling?
Riot’s later steps include a clean boot, malware scan, Vanguard reinstall, connection checks and game reinstall. Review the official instructions and the effect of each step; record what you already tried. Do not disable TPM or security protections as a generic fix.
If the issue persists, contact Riot support with the full message, time, Windows version and build, whether Pre-Check is in use, and each step and result. Attach logs as Riot requests; do not publish passwords or verification codes.
Different codes and account sanctions
VAN 1067 alone does not establish an HWID ban. If a new code appears, save it and check its own guidance. VAN 185 guide · VAN 152 guide.
